Doorway to the Chapel of Saint Jacob, Kirkop

Sometimes we are lucky to be left with buildings that remind us of our past.  Other times all we have is fragments of those buildings; reminders of what we have lost.

In Kirkop there was once a chapel dedicated to Saint Jacob.  It was built in medieval times and probably resembled the one that can be found in Hal Millieri.  Sadly, we can only wonder whether it too contained colourful, vivid frescoes like the ones that enrich the walls of the Hal Millieri chapel because today all that remains is the doorway that led to this chapel.

If you're passing by the area and want to give it a closer look, this is where you can find this doorway.
